The Senate met this morning and passed a couple routine bills.
The Senate Resource and Environment Committee met this afternoon. The Committee sent the gubernatorial appointment of Jean McDevitt of Pocatello to the Parks and Recreation Board to the Senate floor for approval.
The Committee then finished rules review for IDFG rules.
I introduced a new R.S. on the animal release bill, one that allows people to release live trapped nuisance animals on private property, but specifies that the permission must be written and must specify how many animals are being released.
Two minor bills brought forward by the Outfitter and Guides Association were sent to the floor with a “do pass recommendation.”
The Senate Education Committee sent one measure to the floor dealing with sale of surplus properties by school districts. In addition, the Committee heard a presentation from the Idaho Digital Learning Academy. The Academy now serves 14,000+ students. This is a state on-line system that offers courses to schools throughout the state.
This evening I attended a dinner of the “AG SUMMIT” at the Doubletree Riverside.
